Scholarship 2025
Keith Lapierre
It was my pleasure to be invited to the Aldergrove Community Secondary School Scholarship Ceremony last June to present this year’s Seamus Gee Memorial Trades Scholarship to Keith Lapierre.
After the ceremony, I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Keith. It was great to hear his gratitude and learn about his plans to pursue a future in carpentry, a passion he discovered at a young age while learning alongside his grandfather.
We found out after that fact that 30 years ago I used to work and carpool with Keith's grandfather. For a short time I even lived across the street from their family in when Keith’s mom was a teenager.
It really is a small world Keith, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
Scholarship 2024
Will Wright
It was my pleasure to be invited to the R.E.Mountain Secondary Scholarship Ceremony this afternoon to present this year's Seamus Gee Memorial Trades Scholarship to Will Wright.
After speaking briefly with Will after the ceremony it was nice to hear his gratitude and his future plans in pursuing a future in carpentry.
Will, we wish you all the best with your future endeavors!
Scholarship 2023
Jake Crawford
Today it was my honour to meet Jake Crawford and present him with the 1st Annual Seamus Gee Memorial Scholarship which is given to a Langley School District student pursuing a post-secondary education and career in carpentry.
After meeting Jake I just knew that the right recipient was chosen, he possess so many similar characteristics that Seamus had (not just the hair...lol).
I would also like to thank his Vice-Principal Mr. Aaron Powell, once Aaron saw the name of the scholarship he asked to be the speaker to introduce myself and the scholarship. Aaron was one of Seamus' trades teacher in Grade 9, I only wish I had someone there to record his speech as he remembered Seamus quite vividly and had me on the verge of tears.
